The Maldives Library Association’s constitution was last revised in 2009 in in response to the formal request from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The changes that were brought includes reduction of MLA council posts to streamline the association and to make the office bearers more responsibile. Additional modification were made to the overall structure of the constitution to comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
