The first MLA webinar for the year 2023 was successfully held today, 4th March 2023 from 10.00 to 11.30 am.

The webinar was conducted by Dr. Ruwan Gamage, Senior Lecturer of Faculty of Arts, The Maldives National University and moderated by Fathimath Nashath, Chief Librarian of IUM (both are current members of MLA).

The webinar was focused around FRBR conceptual framework and the session was broadly structured as follows:

  • Introduction to the current information landscape
  • Introduction to the FRBR framework
  • The importance of FRBR for descriptive cataloging
  • Becoming RDA ready
