Support Maldives Librarians and LIS students: PDWL 2026 Fundraising Campaign

The Maldives Library Association (MLA) invites individuals, institutions, and well-wishers to support participants of the Professional Development Workshop for Library & Information Services (PDWL) 2026, to be held in Perth, Australia.

While two participants have been awarded partial sponsorship through MLA Fellowships, the remaining selected participants are self-funded, covering the full cost of travel, accommodation, and participation.

This campaign aims to ease that burden and ensure broader participation in this important professional development opportunity.

How Your Contribution Helps

Funds raised through this campaign will be allocated as follows:

  • 70% –> Directly supports participant costs (travel, accommodation, subsistence costs)
  • 30% –> Administrative costs to manage and deliver the programme

  • MVR 500 –> Supports local transport in Perth
  • MVR 2,500 –> Covers workshop fees
  • MVR 5,000+ –> Contributes towards accommodation and travel
