The MLA is conducting a basic level certificate course titled “Introduction to Librarianship” at the National Library of Maldives. The course is designed and conducted by the Maldives Library Association and is being taught by its members made up of staff from the MCHE Library, Library students from Faculty of Arts, and staff from the National Library of Maldives. The current training program will run from 19 September to 07 October 2010.
Participants come from a variety of libraries and backgrounds including the Maldives College of Higher Education, Mandhu college, Billabong International School, Lale International School, Raajje Radio, National Library of Maldives, Children’s Multimedia Library, Lhaviyani Atoll Thauleemee Marukazu, and a few from other sectors of work.
The MLA has, in the past conducted Basic & Intermediate level courses in library studies. The current course is being conducted after a 3 year gap. The MLA hopes to continue offering at least one basic level course a year in the future.

why is the basic course not accredited??????? If the MLA is working at its best i think the basic course should be accredited here in maldives. i hope i get see the basic cet being accredited.
